I’m excited to share my experience at the Put on Red and Attack Chanel launch event. On Friday, March 2, 2018, I had the pleasure of attending and capturing moments at the Chanel Beauty House in Los Angeles, Ca. The event was an interactive beauty space that featured eight individual rooms, and each room was a different theme distinct enough for me to capture some fantastic moments.
Create With Colour was the first room I visited, and in the room, we were able to create our flat lays with just about every Chanel product you could think of. There were Chanel shopping bags, lip colors, skincare products, perfumes, makeup brushes, and the list goes on. I created my first name initial “F” using lip-gloss and lipstick that I placed in a Chanel tray, accompanied by Coco Chanel perfume and eyeshadow.
Dare In Neutral was a realistic bar where the bartender poured us faux Chanel No. 5 drinks from an enlarged Chanel bottle, while bar guests were able to play a round of Jax on a Chanel branded Jax table. The “bartender” was very patient, as it seemed like every girl attending wanted to take a shot of him serving an exclusive pour from the enlarged Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle.
Rebel In Red was a fun room where all of the lip products were laid out for guest to test out, and the shades were endless. Chanel has been known for their signature red lip, and at this event, every red shade in their makeup collections was present. I was able to find the perfect signature red lip, which was the Darling Red from the ROUGE DOUBLE INTENSITÉ line, was just the right color for me. The double-sided liquid application is a long-lasting full coverage shade on one end that smoothly glides on and dries quickly.
I applied the slightest bit to my lips and the color pay off was greatly pigmented and oh so vibrant, the other end comes with a glossy lip shine that glides on smoothly without a sticky feel. The lipstick lasted all day even after chowing down a grilled chicken sandwich and sipping on a milkshake. Let's just say this is my new favorite red lip (Sorry Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint). The room also highlighted a photo booth where you could take a photograph of your lips. Afterward, your lips were projected to an on-screen collage in the room.

The Garden, unfortunately, was closed due to the rain, but I’m sure whatever was in the Garden was amazing.
Provoke With Pink was a room where you could kick back for just a bit on a plush white canopy bed, with a built-in mirror above the bed that read “Provoke In Pink.” There was also large Chanel shopping bags, not sure the purpose of the bag but I’m assuming it gave the allusion that you might have needed to take a nap after all of the shopping at Chanel, or at least that’s what I imagine when I saw a bed and shopping bags.
Inspire In Berry was a beauty room where you could receive a mini makeover by a Chanel make-up artist, and test some of the Chanel’s newest makeup products. This seemed to be the most popular room so it was a bit crowded and I didn’t spend much time in there.

Declare With Coral was a gorgeous powder room with Chanel logo towels, an interactive mirror you could write on and a to-die-for porcelain tub filled with pearls. Laced with pearls that day, it only fitted that I captured a unique moment in this room.
Swing Into Colour was my favorite of all the rooms. There was a pink swing in the shape of a Boy Chanel handbag, how clever! There was a photographer present who took four photographs per guest, the photo was then turned into a gif, and the best photo was printed out as a take-home gift.
Overall, the #WeLoveCoco launch was a great way to bring awareness to the new lip colors. In addition to highlighting the new releases, this event was a great way to get inspired, while unleashing creativity and getting to know more about the iconic established Chanel brand. I had such a fantastic time, and I am excited I had a chance to visit the Chanel Beauty House.
If you are a fashion maven like myself, you may have already begun following and even shopping for the latest spring and summer 2018 trends. I have screenshots of new Fashion Week styles that I'm eager to add to my closet. Some favorites I've seen on the runway are vintage prints, including polka dots, plaid, and stripes, bold colors—I’m adoring the yellow and lavender trends—bold fabrics like ruffles and plastic, and lastly, accessories such as belt bags and sunglasses. These trends were seen all over the Fashion Week runways in New York, Paris, London, and Milan.
Here are my top 10 beloved Spring/Summer 2018 Fashion Week trends, all of which are sure to vogue up your wardrobe:
The first trend that I am obsessed with is plaid. Plaid has officially made a comeback. When I think of plaid, my mind automatically takes me to the movie Clueless. This movie by far played a pivotal role in my fashion growing up. I can vividly remember gasping the first time I saw Cher’s closet, and I vowed to one day have a closet just like hers (I’m still working on that promise). Plaid is a versatile fabric that flatters both men and women.

2. Polka dots
Another oldie but goody that’s making a strong comeback is polka dots. I remember being obsessed with polka dots growing up, so this one certainly hits a sweet spot for me. This trend is completely adaptable and can be fun mixing with various textures and prints. Traditionally, we see black and white polka dots, which gives us room to add color by way of layers and accessories.
A classic that hasn’t really gone away is stripes, which has been trending a few years in a row (no complaints here). Stripes may be here to stay, so it’s important to talk about the variation of stripe patterns. Understanding the stripe direction can assist in determining which stripe pattern is most flattering to your body type. A rule of thumb: Horizontal stripes are typical for creating width and vertical stripes are typical for creating length. When in doubt, length it out.
4. Bold colors
Bright and bold colors are always trendy for spring and summer. Once the weather warms, color begins to emerge like a groundhog on his big day. The colors that have the strongest emergence this season are yellow/mustard yellow and lavender. Both are colors that look flattering on just about any skin tone but is generally lacking in most wardrobes. I love the way yellow pops on dark skin tones, and this is a staple color in my wardrobe. I must admit I don’t currently own anything lavender (nor any shade of purple). However, I most definitely will be adding this color to my collection.

5. Puffy shoulders
For an instant statement piece, puffed shoulders is a great way to amp up a look in the most subtle way. This trend is a unique way to add more volume and gives off a bigger is better vibe that I am totally here for!
Time to ruffle your wardrobe! Ruffles remind me of the soothing sound and look of waves. They have a calm yet dramatic, cascading effect that creates a feminine yet modern appeal. This trend can be easily overdone, so less is more when it comes to putting this look together. The ripples have their own unique detail occasionally found on sleeves, the bottom hem of a skirt or pant, and on the shoulder, which is my favorite.

Another strong fashion trend comeback is the plastic craze. This trend may be a hit or miss as plastic can have a trashy appeal. However, when put together correctly, it can take any basic outfit to a new fashionable height. The plastic trench jacket and plastic purse are an easy start to incorporating this look into your wardrobe.

8. High waist
One of the best trends for me this season is the high waist. This waist cinching trend is one of my best-kept secrets. As a 5’ 2” woman, this trend is essential because the silhouette gives the legs an elongated look, so wearing a high waist can give the illusion of appearing taller and having longer legs. For all the 5’ 7” and under women, there’s your tip of the day!

9. Bag belts
The belt bag is a trend that gives the traditional purse as we know it a break. I love this style. It reminds me of a structured version of a fanny pack. This bag is a great way to enhance the look of a simple outfit and a hands-free way to keep hold of your belongings.
